Dragon Rampant & LoTR

Post by John » Mon Jan 01, 2018 6:49 pm

AS most people who answered about doing a Lord of the Rings Tourney using Dragon Rampant wanted to try doing it in the New Year I have started this Post for it.
What I am particularly after is who is interested along with which force they would use?
Also would whoever is interested want to write their own list for their force or let someone else prepare it?
Once in awhile,
Someone AMAZING comes along....... :o
AND HERE I AM! ;)

I have a few models I acquired last year, and am keen 'Dragon Rampant' (you'd never know, would you), so would be up for this as a 'back burner' project.

If so, I would build my own list from the book - basically Infantry and Cavalry with the possible hero thrown in. And I'm definitely for the Dark.

I might try to do 2wound forces to start (half figure count), as it would be an easier fit to build the force - 42> models will take a while).

and i'll be honest, whilst I will work on this, it's nowhere near the top of the list for me - Age of Sigmar and various other fantasy setting first I think

I'm in the same boat as Kevin really. While I'd love to do this I think my main forces for Dragon Rampant would be Warhammer based ones such as Cult of Slaanesh and Tomb Kings. I have so many other things going on at the moment that I would not be able to devote much time to DR LotR when I plan to be painting up AoS Orcs. I'll happily play DR with them though!

Count me in as a tentative yes still but I'll be slow building a force and probably won't go for higher than 24pts. I'll pick Easterlings, that should eat up the points quickly!
Games I play: 40k (CSM, Dark Eldar), AoS (Sylvaneth), Wolsung (Ash and Oak), Game of Thrones LCG (Baratheon, Lannister), Battlefleet Gothic (Chaos), Mordheim (Undead)

2018 models painted: 112
2018 models bought: 25

I'm going Easterlings too - got some models which may be surplus to need, too many now and sword, not enough spear.

Good luck with 'cheap' models too, GW direct maybe your from if you order over £40 to miss P&P.

If you are in Cardiff or Swansea frequently you can get stuff delivered to the GW store for free. I regularly use the service.

I'll put myself as a tentative 'yes' too. I have a box of Uruk Hai somewhere in the shed, I think.

Asked at Firestorm, and as it's Direct Sales, they generally can't get the through the shop.

As items vary from £15-22 (and then there are bits for AoS), £40 isn't hard to do.
