Mine are in the post so hopefully they will arrive soon and can be packed off to Santa for him to deliver next week. ;)
Unfortunately the paints aren't out until late January so it will be camo grey (or whatever colour the plastic is) for a while. :(

Found my East German references, looks like I'm going BMP-1 heavy as only the Main Tank Regiments have T-72's in 1985 (about 50% of the Tank regiments were so equipped).

Both MRR and Tank Regiments had BMP-1's by 1983, so that's all good - some even had (around 30%, and generally MRR over Tank) BMP-2 (though I would see those being sent of to the Guard Formations.

And the ToE for a WarPac MRR Battalion in the rules fits nicely with the actual Company structure of the period.

Just opened the Bannon box and I'm impressed with the quality of the models. They are also very impressive size wise. The only down side I've found so far is that there's only one decal sheet for the choppers, whereas there are two choppers so one will be missing its shark smile! :(

I think your unlikely to get anyone to bite at 6mm - but if they did i would suggest GHQ, probably the best 6mm (1/300, though i beleive they are actually 1/285) models out there.

And if you really wanted to push the boat out, and do a genuine 1:1 force, there's always the 1/600 scale models (fielded in based tactical units, they work lovely).

The vehicles are larger than expected, just put together some BMP2s. Only thing I don't like is putting on the smoke launchers. :cry_blow:

West German due in next month, and the BaoR by end of year.

Not that this appeared to catch on.
